Setting sail with the Captain...

Yeah, yeah... I know... It's been awhile. To be fair though, I've warned that these blogs are pretty random. For those of you who have hung in there and follow it anyway, a thousand thank-yous, it means a lot.

For my entire life, I've had a fascination with the ocean, ships, and the sea. In a previous blog, I announced I was finally going to write a historical romance centered around all three of those things and what goes along with that? PIRATES. Who doesn't love'em? Especially since in this day and age, we can pretty much sail across the oceans without having to worry about marauders, whom I'm certain were not as good looking in reality as Captain Nicolai Mikhalovic is in my imagination. I pretty much based most of his looks after my own childhood celebrity crush, Dolph Lundgren, as seen in one of my posts from a few years ago, Dolph Lundgren, the Pirate. (I love you, Dolph... Call me... 😘)
To be fair, Black Wolf has been a work in progress for a while. Even before Songs In the Key of Life was began, but true to form, I kept getting distracted and we all know I'm a procrastinator, so I have no really good excuses here. I'm just a lazy writer. I also struggled a lot with the title. Not to mention, I lied to everyone when I said it was done, edited, and ready for print with the exception of the title. I didn't realize the lie I was spewing at the time because quite simply, when I did manage to get some Bimini, the Romance had, where I had to force myself to accept that Black Wolf was as done as it was ever going to be and I just needed to quit obsessing over it before it became a five-year project like its predecessor. Trust me, I was in grave danger of heading down that path. I mean, here we were heading into year four of this book, which I started midway through the writing process of Diesel, the final process of Texan, and before SITKOL. Suffice it to say, Adrienne and Nicolai were on the back burner long enough, so yesterday, I allowed them to be set free so that you, the reader, can take a little trip back in time and ride the High Seas.
time to hardcore read back through the manuscript, I ended up adding and deleting stuff. Once again... true to the form that is me. Finally, a few days ago, it came to a point just like
I do caution, the book may contain some triggers as it deals with life in that time period, which contained slavery, subjugation, violence, and abuse. Read at your own risk.
All that said, I hope you enjoy it and I hope that for better or worse, you'll give me your feed back.

Happy Reading!
